The deceased has been identified as Namish (or Nameesh/Nimish) Sangalad, a Class 9 student from a private school in Mysuru. He had returned home to Hubballi (resident of Laxmi Nagar area) to celebrate the Ugadi festival. He was the son of local BJP leader and developer Veeresh (or Veerabhadrappa) Sangalad.

According to reports from police and witnesses, Namish and a group of friends (including minors) planned to shoot a risky "action brake" or high-speed stunt reel. This involved an electric scooter (or bike/two-wheeler) ridden by Namish and a luxury Audi Q7 car (driven by another underage friend, reportedly around 15 years old).

The stunt reportedly entailed the vehicles approaching each other from opposite directions at high speed, intending to swerve or brake dramatically at the last moment for dramatic footage. However, the plan went horribly wrong, resulting in a head-on collision. Namish sustained severe injuries (including head trauma) and died on the spot.

The accident took place in the afternoon/evening (around 4:30 PM) in an open area near Shejawadkar plot/layout (between Unkal and Tharihal/Mahalakshmi Layout), within Vidyanagar police station limits. Some local Kannada media mentions reference the area behind Chetan College, which aligns with the vicinity.

Police, including Hubballi-Dharwad Commissioner N Shashikumar, rushed to the scene for investigation. The case falls under reckless driving, underage operation of a vehicle, and possibly other charges related to dangerous stunts. The Audi car and other details are under examination.

This incident highlights the growing risks of attempting viral, high-risk stunts for social media fame, especially among teenagers, often leading to fatal outcomes.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Namish during this heartbreaking time. Authorities and safety advocates urge caution against such dangerous trends.
