New Delhi: Activist Sonam Wangchuk on Saturday described the proposed July 20 Parliament march as India's "second freedom movement", calling for "freedom from fear" and "freedom from injustice" while urging supporters to make the mobilisation a "big success".

In a handwritten message shared from Safdarjung Hospital through his wife Gitanjali J Angmo, Wangchuk linked "freedom from injustice" to alleged paper leaks and "freedom from fear" to what he described as his "illegal detention".

Meanwhile, his wife Gitanjali Angmo on Sunday morning moved the Delhi high court for an urgent hearing to discharge him from Safdarjung Hospital, saying she had lost faith in the facility. In a morning post, Angmo said, "I have lost faith in Safdarjung Government Hospital.

Meanwhie, Wangchuk is being given the "required medical intervention" at the Safdarjung Hospital here and a team of experts is closely monitoring his condition as his blood parameters remain marginally altered due to the physiological stress and systemic effects of prolonged fasting, the hospital said on Sunday. With PTI

Sonam Wangchuk wife Gitanjali Angmo on Sunday morning moved the Delhi high court for an urgent hearing to discharge him from Safdarjung Hospital, saying she had lost faith in the facility. In a morning post today, Angmo said, "I have lost faith in Safdarjung Government Hospital. The hospital told us @Wangchuk66’s potassium had dropped to 2.9, describing it as alarming and life-threatening. Yet, in its public health bulletin, it conveniently omitted the actual number, referring only to "decreasing potassium levels”.

The note, shared on X through Wangchuk's account, read: "20th July. India's second freedom movement. Freedom from injustice (like paper leaks). Freedom from fear (my illegal detention)." It further said, "March to the Parliament. Please make it a big success." The note was signed off with the words, "Sent through Gitanjali from my illegal detention at Safdarjung." PTI

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh MP Chandrashekhar Azad, who represents the Nagina Log Sabha constituency in UP, visited Jantar Mantar at 2.30 am on Sunday, a day after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. The Uttar Pradesh MP arrived with a team of around 50 supporters to ensure that Delhi Police did not detain CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke in a manner similar to that of Wangchuk.
