New Delhi, February 18, 2026 — Union Minister Kiren Rijiju launched a blistering attack on Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, describing him as the "most dangerous person for India's security."

In an interview with news agency ANI, Rijiju accused Gandhi of associating with anti-India forces and maintaining links with various controversial figures and groups both domestically and internationally.

"Rahul Gandhi has become the most dangerous person for India's security because he associates with anti-India forces. He meets people abroad and at home — Naxalites, extremists, ideologues, people like George Soros," Rijiju said, according to multiple reports from outlets including NDTV, The Economic Times, Deccan Chronicle, and Swarajya.

The Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister further alleged that Gandhi's actions and associations posed a serious threat to national interests. He claimed that India had "never seen such a Leader of the Opposition," highlighting what he described as unprecedented behavior in the role.

Rijiju's remarks came amid ongoing political tensions, including criticisms of Gandhi's conduct during recent Parliament sessions. The minister referred to instances of disruptions, such as throwing papers, carrying banners, and staging sit-ins, calling them "childish and irresponsible" for someone in Gandhi's position.

He also touched on Gandhi's recent comments linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Epstein Files controversy, accusing the Congress leader of making unsubstantiated statements that caused public disappointment.

The sharp comments reflect the heightened political rhetoric between the ruling BJP-led government and the opposition Congress party, particularly as debates over national security, foreign associations, and parliamentary decorum continue to dominate discourse.

No immediate response from Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party was available in the reports covering Rijiju's statements. The remarks have sparked widespread discussion across media and social platforms, underscoring the polarized nature of current Indian politics.
