
Hours after renowned scientist and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk sat on a hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the Delhi Police on Sunday cut off sanitation facility at protest site, alleged Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke.
According to Dipke, there is no water connection at Jantar Mantar and hygiene measures too were absent.
“Delhi Police has cut off sanitation facility at Jantar Mantar after Sonam Wangchuk announced his hunger strike. No water connection and hygiene measures,” Dipke said on X.
He further alleged that police was not cooperating and expressed fears that other such basic facilities too will be cut off soon.

Dipke is leading a large protest at Janata Mantar against Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the issues of paper leaks and student suicides.
Wangchuk, who had taken part in Dipke’s June 12 agitation, today rejoined the protest and sat on a hunger strike.
The CJP is demanding Pradhan’s resignation and overhaul in India’s education system.
Earlier today, both Dipke and Wangchuk, along with other CJP workers, visited Raj Ghat and paid home to Mahatma Gandhi.
The CJP has claimed that many farmer leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana are being orevented from joining the protest.
“Many farmers’ leaders from UP, Haryana, and Punjab are being placed under house arrest to prevent them from joining us at Jantar Mantar,” Dipke had alleged.
