Karnataka completes enumeration forms distribution ahead of August 8 SIR deadline statewide
Over one crore electors flagged under ASDDO category for further verification statewide
Nearly half of flagged electors belong to Greater Bengaluru Assembly constituencies
With just three days before the distribution and collection of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls concludes on August 8 in Karnataka, the Election Commission (EC) has completed the distribution of forms across the state.
However, more than one crore electors have been flagged under the Absent, Shifted, Duplicate, Dead and Others (ASDDO) category, with nearly half of them belonging to the Greater Bengaluru Area (GBA).
According to Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukumar, Karnataka has 5,54,32,314 electors on its rolls as of June 16, 2026.
All their enumeration forms have been printed and distributed, achieving 100 per cent coverage during the house-to-house verification exercise that began on June 30.
The latest data shows that 5,54,09,337 of these enumeration forms (99.96 per cent) have already been processed. Of these, 4,43,04,632 forms (79.93 per cent) have been digitised as valid ones, while 1,11,04,705 electors (20.03 per cent) have been marked under the ASDDO category for further verification.
Significantly, 49,42,750 of these ASDDO cases—accounting for 47.57 per cent—are from Assembly constituencies in the Greater Bengaluru Area, underlining the scale of voter verification challenges in the state capital.
Anbukumar said electors who believe they have been wrongly classified under the ASDDO category can approach election officials and seek corrections until August 8, which is the last day of the enumeration exercise.
“Only 22,977 forms remain to be digitised. We will complete the process in the next two or three days,” he told reporters.
The ASDDO category comprises electors who were absent during the Booth Level Officer’s (BLO) visit, have permanently shifted residence, are enrolled elsewhere, are deceased, or fall under other categories requiring further scrutiny.
The data shows 16,30,012 electors (2.94 per cent) were found absent or untraceable during house visits, 66,64,943 (12.02 per cent) had permanently shifted, 16,30,872 (2.94 per cent) were recorded as deceased, and 6,89,904 (1.24 per cent) were found to be already enrolled elsewhere, while 4,88,974 (0.88 per cent) were classified under other categories.
The EC has also received 6,90,849 enumeration forms online, accounting for 1.25 per cent of the electorate, with the overwhelming majority of forms collected through door-to-door visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Officials have been digitising an average of 11.97 lakh forms a day, or 2.16 per cent of the electorate, on a daily basis.
Constituency-wise data shows 57,787 polling stations across 193 Assembly constituencies have completed 100 per cent digitisation, while another 4,241 polling stations in 49 constituencies have crossed the 90-100 per cent mark. Only 22 polling stations spread across 15 constituencies remain in the 75-90 per cent bracket.
With the enumeration phase ending on August 8, election officials are expected to spend the remaining days revisiting households where electors were unavailable and processing correction requests from those who believe they have been wrongly categorised.
The Election Commission is scheduled to publish the draft electoral roll on August 17. As of August 4, it had received 12,20,312 applications under Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 for the inclusion of new voters, overseas electors, corrections, and deletion of entries in the electoral rolls.
