Nandyal, Date: 15.12.2025.

A joint delegation was presented today to the Honorable District Collector Smt. Rajakumari Ganiya at the District Collector's Office during the Public Grievance Addressal System, demanding the withdrawal or amendment of discriminatory orders being imposed solely on the Christmas festival regarding the celebration of festivals in schools.

In this program,
the Nandyal Muslim Joint Action Committee,
All Minority Employees Welfare Association – Andhra Pradesh Honorary President S. MD. Abulais,
and the Executive General Secretary of the Christian JAC of both Telugu States, Pastor Janayya Mannem,
together submitted a written petition to the District Collector.

On this occasion, the leaders, while speaking,
stated that while numerous Hindu festivals such as Saraswati Pooja, Vinayaka Chavithi, Rama Navami, and Deepavali are being celebrated at the school level in government and private schools in the district, no special restrictions are being imposed on them.

However, they clarified that imposing special restrictions only on the Christmas festival is contrary to the spirit of equality and religious freedom enshrined in the Constitution.

They expressed concern that schools should serve as centers for fostering harmony and goodwill among religions, but such discriminatory orders would instill a sense of inequality among students.

Therefore, they demanded that these orders be immediately withdrawn, or if not, amended in a manner that applies equally to festivals of all religions.

Responding to this, District Collector Smt. Rajakumari Ganiya assured that the matter would be discussed with the District Educational Officer (DEO) and an appropriate decision would be taken, as informed by the leaders.

On this occasion, while speaking to the media, the leaders
clarified that they have undertaken this movement not with any anti-religious stance, but for the protection of constitutional equality and religious harmony.

In this program,
from the STPI Party: Kalam, Jakee Wulla,
from the MIM Party: Ayub, Sameer,

and representatives from Christian organizations: Peter Prabh, Naivedyam Kishore, Yesuraju Ravi, Sparjan Raju, and others participated.
