Hubballi, April 14: In a heartfelt tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary, the Karnataka Dalit Vimochana Samiti organized a special program in Krishi Karmika Nagar (Agricultural Workers' Colony), Hubballi. The event featured the distribution of notebooks and pens to economically disadvantaged school-going boys and girls, aiming to support their education and inspire them to follow Dr. Ambedkar's ideals of equality, education, and empowerment.
The program combined educational aid with a commemoration ceremony, highlighting Dr. Ambedkar's contributions to social justice and the upliftment of marginalized communities. A large gathering of local residents turned out, with youth and elders from the colony actively participating alongside many enthusiastic children.
Suresh R. Kanapur, State President of the Karnataka Dalit Vimochana Samiti, presided over the event and addressed the gathering. Mohammad Saab Bande, the organization's Hubballi City Organization Coordinator, was also present and played a key role in coordinating the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, organizers emphasized that providing basic educational materials like notebooks and pens is a small but meaningful step toward removing barriers to learning for poor students.
