e-KYC Deadline for LPG Booking: Step-by-Step Guide for Indane, Bharatgas and HP Gas Consumer Before August 15

If you use an LPG connection in Karnataka, you just have 10 days left to complete your mandatory e-KYC verification. The deadline is August 15, 2026, and missing it would lead to your domestic LPG connection being temporarily suspended. You may also stop receiving your LPG subsidy until the verification is completed.

To avoid any disruption, oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), are urging LPG customers under the PMUY scheme to complete the e-KYC process as soon as possible. The nationwide verification drive aims to identify genuine beneficiaries, remove duplicate or inactive connections and prevent misuse of subsidised LPG cylinders.

Meanwhile, BPCL has informed Karnataka's Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs that a large number of consumers are still yet to complete their e-KYC verification. Following the communication, the department has directed deputy commissioners across the state to step up awareness campaigns and ensure eligible consumers complete the process before the deadline.

Despite repeated reminders from LPG distributors, thousands of consumers across Karnataka have not yet completed the verification.

For those wondering about the current price, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in Bengaluru costs ₹944.50 as of August 5, 2026. However, the price varies across Karnataka depending on the district. For instance, consumers in Bidar pay ₹1,013.50, while those in Bagalkot and Ballari pay ₹963 and ₹962, respectively. These differences are mainly due to transportation and local distribution costs, even though the cylinders are supplied by the same oil marketing companies.

How to complete LPG e-KYC

Consumers can complete the verification in either of the following ways:

Through the official mobile app of their LPG provider, such as HelloBPCL.

By visiting their authorised LPG distributor with their Aadhaar card for identity verification.

Officials say the process is similar to the KYC verification carried out by banks and financial institutions.

For Indane (IndianOil), you need to download the IndianOil One app or visit IndianOil LPG Services and same with HP Gas (HPCL): Download the HP Pay app or visit the HP Gas Portal.

Apart from the e-KYC drive, oil marketing companies have also launched express delivery services for their new 10 kg LPG cylinders, including Bharatgas Lite ZIP, HP Navya and Indane Xtralite. There are no other changes to LPG rules relating to cylinder bookings, refills, connection surrender or switching to PNG in August 2026.

With the deadline fast approaching, consumers are advised not to wait until the last minute. Completing the verification now will help avoid any interruption in LPG supply or subsidy benefits.
