New Delhi/Hyderabad, March 8, 2026: Senior Congress leader and Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi has filed his nomination for re-election to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana, declaring a combined net worth exceeding ₹2,500 crore in his election affidavit. The disclosure, submitted on or around March 5, 2026, along with his wife Anita Singhvi, underscores his substantial wealth built through a thriving legal practice, strategic investments, and high-value collectibles.

According to the affidavit details reported across multiple outlets, the couple’s movable assets alone account for approximately ₹2,100 crore, while immovable properties add roughly ₹450 crore, pushing the total current market value past ₹2,500 crore (some reports peg the joint figure at ₹2,860.36 crore). This marks a significant rise from previous declarations, reflecting appreciation in financial portfolios and professional earnings.

# Diverse Investment Portfolio
The affidavit reveals a modern and diversified asset mix:

- Mutual funds (listed): ₹197.87 crore
- Portfolio Management Services (PMS) funds**: ₹140.86 crore
- Cryptocurrency investments: ₹8.18 crore
- Listed and unlisted shares: Over ₹190 crore (listed) and ₹33 crore (unlisted)
- Artworks and paintings: More than ₹25 crore

Other notable holdings include foreign shares and mutual funds, infrastructure bonds (₹80,000), and minor SBI mutual fund investments (₹50,000). Jewellery is valued at ₹2.40 crore for Singhvi and ₹157.53 crore for his wife.

### Real Estate and Immovable Assets
Immovable properties include premium residential holdings in New Delhi’s upscale localities such as Neeti Bagh, Sunder Nagar, Jor Bagh, and Golf Links (valued in hundreds of crores), agricultural land in Alibaug near Mumbai, and non-agricultural plots in Jodhpur. These are held individually, jointly, or through HUF.

### Income Surge and Professional Earnings
Singhvi, 67, a prominent constitutional and commercial lawyer who has represented high-profile clients for over four decades, reported robust income growth. His declared earnings over the last five financial years total more than ₹1,516 crore:

- 2024–25: Over ₹374 crore
- 2023–24: Over ₹333 crore
- 2022–23: Over ₹359 crore
- 2021–22: Over ₹290 crore
- 2020–21: ₹158 crore

The bulk of this stems from legal fees, investment returns, and his salary as a Rajya Sabha MP. The affidavit lists no outstanding personal loans, though Singhvi has extended personal loans and advances worth hundreds of crores (treated as receivables).

# Quirky Disclosures
In a touch of meticulous detail typical of such filings, the affidavit even accounts for depreciated household and office items — including a computer valued at just ₹163.

Singhvi, who has been a Rajya Sabha member from Telangana since 2024 and serves as Congress national spokesperson, is contesting in the biennial elections for two seats from the state, scheduled for March 16, 2026. He was renominated by the Congress alongside another candidate. The 67-year-old lawyer, educated at St Stephen’s College, Cambridge, and Harvard, has long been one of India’s highest-earning advocates, charging several lakh rupees per appearance.

This declaration positions Singhvi among the wealthiest candidates in the current Rajya Sabha fray. The affidavit was uploaded on the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana website, as required under election norms. No major liabilities or criminal cases impacting his candidature have been highlighted in the latest filings.

The development comes amid ongoing Rajya Sabha polls across several states, where candidates’ wealth disclosures often draw public scrutiny. Singhvi’s portfolio — blending traditional real estate and art with emerging assets like crypto and PMS — reflects the evolving investment strategies of India’s elite professionals.
