Bidar: Karnataka State Working Journalists Association State President Mr. Shivanand Tagadur  has urged all journalists, leaders, and office-bearers of the association to work unitedly and make the upcoming 40th State Journalists Seminar a grand success.

The two-day seminar is scheduled to be held in Bidar on April 11th and 12th. Accommodation arrangements will be made for participants coming from distant places, Mr. Tadgur assured.

Speaking on the occasion, the state president called upon the entire leadership to extend full cooperation so that the prestigious state-level event becomes memorable. He highlighted that the seminar will provide a major platform for journalists across Karnataka to discuss key issues related to the profession, welfare measures, press freedom, and other challenges facing the media fraternity.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with several cabinet ministers are expected to participate in the seminar, adding significant importance to the event. The presence of top state leaders is anticipated to boost discussions on journalists’ issues and government support for the media community.

The 40th State Conference of the Karnataka State Working Journalists Association had generated considerable enthusiasm earlier, with its logo even being released by CM Siddaramaiah in January 2026. Bidar’s selection as the host city is being seen as a recognition of the region’s vibrant journalistic community.

Local journalist associations and office-bearers have already begun preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the seminar, including logistics, sessions, and cultural programmes.

Journalists and delegates from across the state are expected to attend in large numbers. The event is likely to feature panel discussions, resolutions on media-related policies, and felicitation of senior journalists.

Further details regarding the exact venue, session themes, and programme schedule are expected to be announced shortly by the organisers.

This seminar assumes importance at a time when issues like journalists’ safety, welfare schemes, and the impact of digital media are being widely debated in the state.
