Attack on Pastor Abhinay Darshan Sparks Tension in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, May 19:

A violent attack on Pastor and “Bharosa” Party founder Abhinay Darshan in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district has triggered political and social tension in the region. The incident occurred near Neerutotapalem village in the Chintapalli area, where unidentified assailants allegedly attacked the pastor and his associates with sharp weapons.

According to reports, Pastor Abhinay Darshan had been touring tribal agency areas over the past several weeks to interact with local residents and raise issues affecting tribal communities. On Monday evening, while travelling in a car along with two associates, masked attackers reportedly intercepted the vehicle and confronted the group.

Eyewitness accounts and local media reports stated that the attackers first threw eggs at the vehicle before launching a physical assault using knives and other weapons. Pastor Abhinay Darshan sustained serious injuries in the attack, while his associates reportedly suffered minor injuries. The incident has drawn widespread attention because Abhinay Darshan recently launched the Bharosa political party and had become active in the agency region. Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and special teams have been formed to identify and arrest the attackers.
